MISSING PETER TRIANTOS PAINTING RETURNED BY THE TORONTO METROPOLITAN POLICE!

CBC News, December 2021

We are thrilled to announce that Peter Triantos' striking 'Untitled #118' painting has been returned by the Toronto Metropolitan Police! Peter Triantos is an internationally acclaimed contemporary abstract artist who specializes in high-end, investment-grade fine art, and his spectacular art forms part of many prominent public and important private collections around the world. Peter has collaborated with designers, developers and celebrities, who have also acquired his remarkable art pieces, including Karl Lagerfeld, Drake, Nicole Scherzinger, Jeff Hamilton, Shaggy, Don Pooh and Tate McRae, among many others.

The fantastic piece was inspired by Basquiat's design for an album for his friend's punk band 'The Offs', in exchange for $400, which he needed to pay his mother's rent. Limited edition screen prints of the original artwork sold at Sotheby’s for more than $300,000 in 2011. John Brower, of Venice Modern Art, who owns the entire inventory and rights to the record cover art by Basquiat, invited Peter to 'The Brilliance of Basquiat' show, held at the Thompson Hotel, Toronto, in April 2019, which Peter created breathtaking pieces for.

The rights to the original cover were afterwards sold to Guggenheim, and Peter's phenomenal painting was also exhibited in a great show in Seoul, Korea in 2019. It sadly went missing this July, 2021 because of an individual who paid for it with stolen credit cards. We are extremely grateful to the Toronto Metropolitan Police, for apprehending the thief this December, 2021, and returning Peter's phenomenal one-of-a-kind painting in perfect pristine condition. The once missing piece is now available again! While it cannot be collected until the court hearings are over, you may inquire about this amazing piece by contacting the gallery at connect@petertriantos.com.
